Quintus McCormick Blues Band - Hey Jodie (2009) MP3 | 320 Kbps | 140mb Blues | 1 CD | 00:51:47 Quintus McCormick's debut album "Hey Jodie!" is a keeper. Although he's been a stalwart on the Chicago Blues scene for nearly two decades, and toured with some of the best including James Cotton, Quintus McCormick hasn't had an album out until now. His debut from Delmark Records is called Hey Jodie! -- and in case you don't know that the name "Jodie" is a generic term for the guy who sneaks in to see your woman while you're out, a definition of the word is included right on the album's cover. Southern soul blues is the primary element of McCormick's style, though he started out playing rock and funk in his hometown Detroit. In Chicago around 1990, he played all sorts of music with many bands, and discovered his inner bluesman working with bassist JW Williams and his band. One night Williams called out to him "Man, Play The Blues" and Quintus McCormick knew that he meant it in a long-term sense. McCormick committed himself to the blues. McCormick likes songs with life-lessons in them, and mixed searing blues with funky stuff and soulful ballads.
